Hurm... Your result for The Watchmen Personality Type Test... RorschachYou scored 75% Moral Imperatives and 40% Attitude!
You are extremely moral absolutist.
While you unwaveringly follow a strict moral code, you often fail to demonstrate the empathy needed to make a moral decision. You find institutional forms of order unsatisfactory and oppressive and believe that your uncompromisng standpoint somehow exempts you from accusations of wrong-doing.
While some might respect your individual and steadfast perspective, be prepared for the possibility that the practical majority might find your black and white moral code unnacceptable. Intro post for Brigit's Flame
This is an introductory post for the writing community/competition LJ Brigit's flame: Who am I? That's a question that I find myself asking quite a lot. If a person is defined by vital stats alone, then I'm a 28 year old male living in the US. Perhaps we are defined by our family, in which case, I can be called son, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, and a husband. Often a career sets the tone for a person's life, and in that case I have been a a student,an editor, and now a teacher. Yet, there are those who claim that an individual is characterized by their hobbies, and therefore I am an artist, a writer, an actor, a reader, and a swordsman. So what does all of this add up to? I'm still trying to figure that one out. | | Monday, March 24th, 2008 | | 11:09 am |

Et tu Moravian?
So...since I've started taking classes at Moravian there have been at least two muggings of campus, a carjacking at gunpoint, a rape, some unknown incident involving a dorm and a lot of blood (though this one is unsubstantiated), a bomb threat, and a renegade 6 foot lone snake (WTF!). While I find it more than a little unsettling that these incidents have happened at all, I have been able to take small comfort in the fact most if not have occurred either off campus, or at a time when I wasn't around. That was not the case last night. Moravian Student Knifed on CampusThe best part about this is that this happened about 10 minutes before I got out of class last night, and had the luck to park in the back lot that for some unthinkable reason, they choose not to illuminate. I'm furthermore peeved that for some reason as a CGS student I never received the "timely notification" they claim they sent out to their students. I guess as a night student, I really don't have to worry much about knife wielding nut jobs. ::Sigh:: At least it's fall break and I don't have to go back there until Wednesday night. I'm certainly be glad to have a break in my hellish 8-10 schedule for a couple of days, that's for sure. Off to Maryland this weekend, should be fun. Back on the band wagon
BR> Your home is a Magic Muse's Castle Your kitchen is manned by a team of Keebler Drow Elves. There's a Chocolatessen, which is rapidly becoming your favorite room of the house. Having one is also becoming a trend among your wealthy neighbors. Your master bedroom has a bedside table with a pad for writing down late-night inspirations. Your study has every fantasy novel ever written, including multiple editions of the Silmarillion and advance copies of Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition. One of your garages houses your Hummer, and others contain your H2, and H3... with room for an H4, if they ever invent one.
Your home also includes a gallery of your favorite works -- the originals, of course. Your guests enjoy your home theater with hi-def plasma screen TV, and the thrones you watch it from. Outside is the moat that protects your home from goblin invaders and extended family.
And, you have a pet -- a cat named "Vincent".

Update, thanks, and congrats
First an update: It seems I got off fairly easy with nothing more than a minor cut and a bruised gum. It occurs to me that I brought this on myself while I was reving up the crowd pre-chess, instructing the crowd that "THe louder you cheer, the harder we fight and the harder we fight the more chance there is for you to see bloodshed, and you all like blood shed right?" Sheesh... Anyway, by the time I got home to my parents, the bleeding had almost completely stopped and they said that if I went to th ER I would spend three hours in the waiting (if I was lucky) and they really wouldn't end up doing anything. To be honest, the worst was over before I left the faire grounds (and I wanted to stay, but alas...) The only real re-occurrence was when the adrenaline finally wore off and the pain set in accompanied by an overwhelming desire to crawl into bed and got to sleep. But this morning all is well, or as well as can be expected. Frankly, I'm more pissed at myself for blanking on the fight in the first place. Second, thanks to everyone who took care of me and who checked up on me afterward. Finally, I wanted to congratulate everyone on a job well done. Regrettably, I didn't get to see the final battle yesterday but what I did see of everything looked real great. Everyone should be really proud. I had a great time this year. A few highlights: Hawking weapons Having small children attempt to explain to me what TV and electricity was. Being attacked pre-chess by rabid cheerleaders. Once again congrats to all. Your Score: Lurch! Our test has determined that you possess 36% Hellbentness, 34% Sanguinity, and 48% Creeps! Well done!"Youuu Raaang?" Our test has determined that your Proto-Goth icon match is Lurch!
Lurch, the butler for the Addams family, is our test's Eidolon of Creepitude. While personifying the image of a "gentle giant" (he plays harpsichord!), his great stature and quiet, zombielike nature always manage to make the "normals" feel unsettled and ill-at-ease. Little is known of his past and if asked about him, Morticia gets a strange glimmer in her eye and says only, ?A shovel, a grave, and a cute little book bound in human skin that my father gave me when I was a child; one of my fondest memories.? Lurch was a wedding present to Gomez from Morticia and her Grand Ma-ma; they exhumed him from the local cemetery and brought him to life via magical incantations.
The Lurch Files website has the following to say about him: "In truth, without the faithful Butler, the Addams mansion would probably be a cheerful place to live (eegads.. perish that thought!!)." Current Mood: blah | | Thursday, August 2nd, 2007 | | 10:06 pm |
For Good! Or perhaps Evil...
So having just watched the somewhat inglorious return of Sci-fi uber geekfest "Who Wants to be A Superhero?" I developed a quandary. Over the years we have all been given the chance to play various roles in hero/villain mindset and I thought that I would post a little quiz to see whether your heart tends toward the shining light of good or the shadows of evil. I'll leave the quiz open until Monday and then post the list of Superheros and SuperVillains. Once more unto the breach, dear friends...
Since I won't be a around for the next couple of days I figured that I would post this now: As we march bravely into the final weekend of the NJRK, I wanted to congratulate everyone on a job well done so far, and wish everyone the best of luck as we finish off with a flourish. Through the (literal) blood, sweat and tears of this year, I feel we have brought forth a pretty damned good show. Many people have stepped up and proved themselves above and beyond the call, while others have continued the energy that I have admired from when I was just a patron. From chaos, was born the universe, right? So once more, good luck to all and god speed. Interesting
You are StrengthCourage, strength, fortitude. Power not arrested in the act of judgement, but passing on to further action, sometimes obstinacy. This is a card of courage and energy. It represents both the Lion's hot, roaring energy, and the Maiden's steadfast will. The innocent Maiden is unafraid, undaunted, and indomitable. In some cards she opens the lion's mouth, in others she shuts it. Either way, she proves that inner strength is more powerful than raw physical strength. That forces can be controlled and used to score a victory is very close to the message of the Chariot, which might be why, in some decks, it is Justice that is card 8 instead of Strength. With strength you can control not only the situation, but yourself. It is a card about anger and impulse management, about creative answers, leadership and maintaining one's personal honor. It can also stand for a steadfast friend. What Tarot Card are You? Take the Test to Find Out. Current Mood: confused | | Monday, June 25th, 2007 | | 11:22 am |
Another one down
First order of business: A very happy (belated) birthday to stratfordgal. This weekend went well, I think. Very well actually. Everything just really seemed to come together, the energy, the crowds, the weather. Hopefully this will continue through next week and we can go out with a bang. A special thank you for all the birthday wishes this past week. They were all very much appreciated. In other news, I'll be going to Philly for a couple of days with the wife (work related stuff for her) later this week. I'll be on my own for most of the time, and I'm still trying to decide on my method of diversion. Hmmmm... Well that's about it from the land of pyratking. I'll leave you all with the most recent quiz which has been floating about. | What color is your soul painted? Orange Your soul is painted the color orange, which embodies the characteristics of balance, heat, enthusiasm, flamboyance, playfulness, aggression, over-emotion, danger, desire, strengthens the ability to concentrate, attraction, adaptability, and stimulation. Orange falls under the element of Fire, and symbolizes glory and fruits of the earth.

Snakes on a ...Campus?!
So this morning I decided to check my school email account to check for important items and basically just clear it out. While scanning the subject lines I see "Timely Notification" which usually means there was a robbery, or stalker, or some other incident on campus. My interest in peak, since I'm always curious as to "safety" of the area i have to walk around in at night. So I open up the email and I se this this: "Today at 4:00pm Moravian police responded to South Campus to look for a large snake which lunged out of the grass and bit a young girl in the foot. The Hospital stated the snake is not poisonous. This snake was seen at the rear of Foy Hall / Day House area. The description of the snake is 4’’+ round and about 4 to 5 ft long. Color is Black and Gold. Be careful when walking and if this snake is seen notify Campus Police." Now I have to say this one is a first...Not just any snake but a 4 to 5 foot snake, roaming around campus. All we need now is Prof. Samuel L. and we're set. Current Mood: amused |
